we the soil is a free monthly newsletter that celebrates and supports creative community by sharing workshops and other creative opportunities.
The intention for this newsletter is to highlight the importance of community in our creative lives. Together, we are the fertile soil from which our art germinates. Art is something you shouldn’t have to make alone, if you don’t want to. :)
Many of us, especially those who do not have the luxury of a full-time artist’s/writer’s life, turn to teachers and workshops to challenge and renew our approaches to our craft. Often, workshops serve as points of origin for creative concepts and offer the structure needed to develop them.
This free newsletter was created to help spread the word about upcoming workshops as a way of tangibly supporting the teaching artists that help nurture and sustain our creativity.
All newsletters will be published during the last week of every month and will include a list of upcoming workshops; some will also include a brief feature in the form of an interview, a piece of writing or art created in a workshop/course, or a micro essay.
If you would like to submit a workshop to include in the newsletter, please complete this form.
About Paid Subscriptions
This newsletter, including the archive, will always be free. Any funds accumulated from paid subscriptions will go toward an every-now-&-then, whenever-funds-allow micro scholarship for one of the workshops listed in the newsletter.
